What Makes Us Blush: August!

Every month we have certain products, and beauty items we reach for more than others. We also just have favorites places and random things along the way! In the month of August, here's all the things that made us blush :)

Bee's Bare Skin!
Lately I've been going natural! No makeup! I don't know if I'm just lazy or loving my skin but more often than not, this month I've been makeup free!

Target!
Target is finally in Canada! Were suckers for target and even though we live at opposite ends on the city, we seem to meet up at target at least once a week!

Bees lip combo!
I can't stop wearing NYX lipstick in strawberry milk and gloss in nude pink! It's such a classic baby doll pink!!

Dee's lip combo!
Well, its not really a combo but I wanted to fit in :P. My favorite lip right now it YSL Sheer Candy lipstick in #2. It gives a sheer pink tint to the lips that I have been loving this month. And bonus, you don't need a mirror to apply it.
Bee loves Dee's hair color
Who doesn't though? Her red hair shines in all the photos I take of her. *girl crush*. Awe shucks. thanks Bee, but I have to give that one to Garnier Nutrise hair color in 564 *heart*.

Stillas BB cream!
I love this product and its so perfect for those hot days! It adds an all around light coverage but is build-able and blends well with concealer to help conceal any problem areas without being too heavy for summer. It only comes in one shade though so it's definitely for people with light to medium skin tones.

Clinique CC cream!

I have been wearing this non-stop since I purchased it earlier this month. It gives just enough coverage to help disguise the redness in my face but looks so natural that you cant even tell I'm wearing makeup.
Starbucks
This could be in any favorites post. Bees been loving the very berry hibiscus refresher and Dee gets her classic favorite black ice tea lemonade!

Kate Somerville goat milk cream
I don't think we need to rave anymore about this product but we both love it so much we couldn't live without it! For more on this product check out Bees Out with the old, In with the new post from last week!

NYC Sunny bronze
 Were obsessed. Plain and simple.

Bees naked basics pallet
Dee bought this little baby for me for my graduation! And on the days where I do wear a bit of makeup I love the light matte naked eyes I can create with this pallet!
Dee's 2 minute eye look!
I have been all about saving time while looking put together and this is how I do it. I use Maybelline color tattoo in Inked in Pink on the lids, using only my finger to apply. This is a great product because you don't need a primer. Next, tight-line the eyes with Sephora's Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in 01 black and a coat of Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara on the lashes and your out the door.

Strobe anyone?
I have been loving using a little of MAC's Strobe Cream on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow before applying foundation. It gives a highlighted-from-within natural look that cant be beat!
CANDLES!!
OMG Bath and Body Works have come out with their fall candles and WE AM IN LOVE! Dee is slightly insomniac, and falling asleep can be a real challenge sometimes and the soothing light of a lit candle before going to sleep really helps her to wind down. Don't worry though, her husband  blows it out before the house catches on fire :). Dee has been crushing on Heirloom Pear, and Bee is in love with farmstand apple.

Bee's Current Skin Scare Routine

As I described in a previous post, I have oily and acne prone skin. Most of the skin care products I use are specially made for acne, and some are just for normal or oily skin. I have a huge mismatched variety of skin care products and I love each of them for different reasons. I don't use every one every single day, but in a week or so I use each one at least once! Lets get started!

Night Time routine!!

Step one: Remove that makeup!
Mac clean off oil in tranquil, and Rimmels Gentle eye makeup remover
First thing I do when I get ready for bed is use my Mac cleanse off oil. Rub 1-2 pumps onto dry skin, including the eye area. This stuff absolutely melts off any makeup including waterproof mascara! I was originally worried about adding extra oil to my face, but nothing breaks down oil better than oil!

Most nights I always seem to have a little bit of left over mascara under my eyes after I've dissolved it, which is when i reach for this next product.  Now this little baby has been my secret weapon since I started selling cosmetics at 16. Super cheap, oil free, and takes off every mascara I've ever worn. If you wont have a clean off oil first, this product will still remove everything! Soak a cotton ball and place it on your eye for 10-15 seconds and gently wipe away all your eye makeup.

Step two: cleanse it up!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar gel cleanser and Philosphy's total Matteness
Depending on the day, or how my skin is reacting, I rotate between these 2 cleaners. Starting on the right, my La Roche-Posay gel cleanser. I use this at least once a week to balance my pH in my skin, or if I'm having super bad breakouts. Its gel formulation foams up so beautifully and i can really feel my face getting deep cleaned. (it tastes horrible! be careful!)
Other days of the week I reach for my philosophy total matteness clay cleanser. This stuff is amazing. No other cleanser gets rid of the oil on my face better than this stuff. Love it! I also use it as a mask every once in a while too :)
For both of these products, use a dime size amount. Lather onto wet skin and rinse off. Pat dry!

Step three: Time for a facial!
GlamGlow Supermud
Ive tried a lot of different peels and masks and treatments as i can find. But just recently I splurged and went for the supposedly "miracle mud" that heels every skin problem. Well.... yeah its pretty great! I love it! This product truly has everything! kills acne bacteria, promotes cell growth. detoxifies the skin... you name it, it does it! I use this once a week, or every two weeks. Its expensive! gotta savor it! On weeks where I don't use it, ill use my philosophy clay cleanser as a mask. I use a very small amount to make a thin layer on my face. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off!

Step 4: Moisturize!
Kate Somerville Goat milk, and Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream
For my face i use my special baby, my goat milk cream! as you guys already know from my previous post... its awesome!! feel free to read more about it!
For my eyes I'm using Bobbi Browns eye moisturizer. I don't have any wrinkles around my eyes yet, knock on wood, but I'm making sure i don't get any from being dehydrated! Prevention is key! Even at a young age its very important to keep the skin around you eyes moist! its the most delicate skin on your body so be extremely gentle! Many eye wrinkles are cause by rubbing and tugging at the delicate skin! Try only using your ring finger when you apply products to your eyes (its naturally your weakest finger).

Step five: Acne products
Boscia Willow Bark spot treatment and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Due Treatment
On active breakouts i use my boscia spot treatment. Its a high concentration of salicylic acid and it does wonders! so great! By the next morning I swear my breakouts half the size and barely noticeable. love love love.
On days where I have more breakouts than usual, ill apple a thin layer of my due treatment on my whole face. this stuff is amazing and it helps calm my skin when its gone haywire! Luckily that doesn't happen to often any more!

Morning routine!!

Step one: Lazy cleanse
Bioderma Purifying cleansing solution for oily skin
As I said before, I hate washing my face... especially half asleep. So this is the product I reach for in the morning. I love this for the mornings because you simply just used it with a cotton pad. This is one of my favorite skin products I've ever had. Its become a cult beauty product and it seems everyone uses it these days! including the beautiful Dee which you can see in her recent skin care post ;) This product comes in 2 versions; one for oily skin and one for normal sensitive skin. I've used both and really I don't think it makes a different for my skin. The pink one just has less fragrance, but both are fantastic. This is perfect for the morning because I don't have any makeup on and mostly my skin is just a bit oily from overnight. I don't use this any other time of day because its not enough to just wipe my face off at night.

Step Two: Moisturize and protect!

I use again my goat milk cream to moisturize my face, and my Bobbi Brown eye cream :) Happy morning face!!

I then use my favorite SPF sun screen. I'm pale, and I accept it. But I don't want wrinkles when I'm older caused by sun damage either! So I do everything I can to avoid that. I use SPF 60! usually a higher SPF adds a lot of oil to the face but this stuff doesn't make me oily at all and my makeup still goes on amazing over top of it.

Step 3: Beautify :) More posts on this soon <3
